Front Runner Roof Rack Information
|
|
|
|
|
1. Front Runner Roof Racks are all made from 6063 Grade aluminum.
2. The Front Runner Roof Racks are approved by no fewer than 6 vehicle manufacturers in South Africa.
3. The Front Runner Roof Racks are powder coated and were tested by being exposed to a neutral salt for a period of 816 hours without any visible defects. With the method of testing being
SABS ISO 7253 under the conditions of 23+/- 2 Degrees C and 50 +/- 5% relative humidity.
4. The fact that the Front Runner Roof Racks are made from aluminum makes Front Runner Racks far lighter than convention steel roof racks.
5. Being made from aluminum means that the Front Runner Roof Racks will never rust.
6. The Front Runner’s powder coated finish prevents the aluminum from oxidizing – oxidization leaves a white film on the racks that ends up rubbing off everything,
7. The outer rim of the Front Runner Roof Rack is bent around the corners with only a weld in the front and rear to join the two halves together. This adds significant strength to the outer construction of the rack.
8. The outer rim is also bent over the top and the bottom to give extra strength and support.
9. The Front Runner Roof Rack has a lip midway through the inside of the outer rim which creates a groove into which the cross slats of the rack are fitted. This patented groove in turn holds the slat both on top and at the bottom meaning that the cross slats of the roof rack are supported in a socket , the slats are then welded in to place for further strength and support. This construction makes the Front Runner Roof Racks extremely tough and durable and amongst the strongest in the world.
10. The slats of the Front Runner Roof Racks are slotted both on top and at the bottom to allow an M8 bolt to be slid from side to side along the slats. This design means that you can attach any of the Front Runner Roof Rack accessories to the top of the rack without having to drill holes in the slats. Fitment of these accessories is made even easier as you will only require one spanner to fit or remove any brackets. The same slot runs on the bottom of the slat for under slung accessories like a table bracket
11. the slats underside on the Front Runner Roof Racks allows you to attach as many mounting legs/feet as required - mainly for people who need to drastically exceed the load limits while on rough terrain. (This is not a recommended practice but people have been known to do it)
12. The Front Runner gutter mount legs are made from one piece of bent aluminum which gives them amazing amounts of strength. The only weld on the Front Runner gutter leg is where the leg is attached to the gutter channel strip. As this weld is at the bottom of the leg, it only takes direct downward force and therefore removing any probability of a failure.
